Brown and Caldwell (BC) has a dynamic opportunity for a full-time 3D Visualization Supervisor in our growth-orientedengineering, environmental consulting, and construction firm. We are looking for a strategic creative leader with proven project management, visualization, and art direction skills to lead and manage a team of 3D artists and graphic designers, as well as lead projects in collaboration with technical subject matter experts. Ensuring the delivery of high-quality creative projects that communicate complex visual information with innovative creative solutions for our clients and communities.

The 3D Visualization Supervisor will partner with Creative Services leadership to foster an innovative and collaborative team environment, and oversee visualization standards, best practices and project management processes that contribute to the evolution of exceptional design delivery for our clients. Detailed Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly creative, driven 3D visualization leader to apply a blend of technical expertise, creative leadership and strategic thinking to guide teams to re-imagine complex problems that result in innovative visual solutions. The successful candidate will work directly with internal technical staff to solve client's complex design challenges, understand their needs, and create within specified visualization standards. This role has the potential to work virtually, with a preference near BC's San Diego, CA office. BC has a work arrangement policy and process to provide flexibility, choice, and trust for our employees to enable them to do their best work.

Expectations and Key Responsibilities:

  • Spends meaningful time investing in laying groundwork for team growth and individual development, including milestones, goals, and structured opportunities.
  • Helps drive and maintain team focus on priority projects and pursuits throughout the year by setting and assessing project actions and progress.
  • Collaborates with the Creative Services leadership team and other leaders to plan, delegate, and manage creative workload.
  • Mentors staff in the use and application of Creative Services assets, tools, and processes.
  • Lead by example when serving as the lead artist for key clients and projects by delivering creative, well-conceptualized visualization products.
  • Leads creation of strategic 3D visuals for proposals, project deliverables, and presentations, including fully modeled project sites, arch/vis and equipment renderings, photo/video composites, maps/aerials, VR
  • Works on a variety of projects with various teams, focusing on the development of technical and 3D visualizations as part of a larger art directed story.
  • Creates strong, innovative designs while adhering to BC brand standards, visual identity, and templates. Implements client's visual standards and standards as required.
  • Aligns with project teams and clients as a professional consultant to discuss project needs and design options, present creative solutions, advocate for choices, and coordinate feedback and revisions.
  • Engages with project teams to understand and conceptualize simple and complex visualizations through strategy-driven storytelling and convey technical information in a compelling way in print documents and presentations.
  • Scopes 3D visualization project work with technical and creative partners to ensure proper budget and schedule.
  • Partners with Creative Services leadership to improve resources, tools, processes, guidelines and strategy for supporting visual client deliverable and business development projects by gathering feedback, identifying development opportunities, and integrating results into team strategy.
  • Documents creative processes, requirements, best practices and products, and supports streamlined visualization development in collaboration with colleagues across the organization.
  • Manages and prioritizes multiple deadlines simultaneously while following standard processes and best practices as part of the Creative Services community.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Portfolio required for consideration: A strong and relevant portfolio including samples of 3D visualization showcasing creativity; ability to create in a wide variety of styles; eye for details, and fluent understanding of design fundamentals (color theory, hierarchy, rhythm, composition, standards, etc.). Acceptable formats include a site link or attached PDF.
  • 5-10 years of related visualization experience is required.
  • BA/BS in graphic design or related field. A combination of experience and education may be substituted.
  • Excels in SketchUp and Twinmotion with ability to learn/work with multiple 3D platforms
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint(including incorporating animation or video).
  • Experience working with corporate standards and working in multiple standards consistently.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience in overseeing a team of designers and coaching others in team leadership skills.
  • Experience in mentoring staff and optimizing the use of creative services assets, tools, and processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience articulating design decisions to non-artists.
  • Ability to provide and receive feedback constructively.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities to identify potential roadblocks, proactively resolve issues, and maintain project momentum.
  • Ability to produce excellent creative visuals within provided schedule and budget
  • Experience working with senior staff on business-critical projects with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for visual content within written narratives.
  • Experience with intellectual property and copyright principles.
  • Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry or professional services experience strongly preferred.

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location B:
Salary $106,000 - $145,000
