Job Roles

  • Oversee and perform day-to-day operations of specific programs/grants over a small number of staff.
  • Build positive relationships, inspire others to perform at a higher level, and provide input on career development plans in support of retaining an accountable workforce.
  • Provide guidance, technical direction, and training to staff.
  • Function as point of reference for staff.
  • Oversee quantity and quality of work performed.
  • Coordinate work of staff and follow up on assigned tasks.
  • Instruct staff on operational policies and procedures.
  • Manage performance appraisals for direct staff.
  • Apply disciplinary protocols to direct staff as required in a timely manner.
  • Provide direct patient case work and oversee staff's patient case work.
  • Manage a case load of high-need clients by providing one-on-one services to include managing referrals.
  • Manage walk-in patients, referrals, program education, and conduct one-on-one service recovery.
  • Provide oversight of staff's cases by reviewing and auditing case files, sitting in on appointments, and providing prompt and actionable feedback.
  • Provide direction to staff to ensure all new hire training and annual trainings are completed on time.
  • Track deliverables for assigned grants/programs, and conduct data analysis and provide report writing.
  • Track deliverables for assigned programs to ensure compliance with grant and department requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Within 30 days of employment, the following certifications, licenses, or credentials are required based on patient population served:

  • Licensed Practitioner of Healing Arts (LPHA)
  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor
  • Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician (RADT)

  • Ability and means to travel as needed in a timely manner within San Diego County, to locations that may have limited access to public transportation; proof of liability and property damage insurance on vehicle used is required. DRIVER REQUIREMENTS: Age 21; Licensed for a minimum of 3 years; No violations and/or accidents within 3 years; No vehicle related suspensions/reinstatements; No DUI, reckless or felony Driving within 7 years.

Experience/Specialized skills (including Language)

  • 1 year experience in program management in health care field required, including experience working with organizations serving the patient population for assigned programs required (i.e., HIV/AIDS, homeless, LGBT, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience as a leader preferred.
  • Knowledge of supervision, performance management, and employee disciplinary protocols.
  • Must meet minimum State, County, Federal requirements as designated by program.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge and ability to perform the essential job duties.
  • Ability to work well in both a team-based environment and independently.
  • Basic computer literacy ability to comply with department needs and expectations (i.e., electronic medical record documentation, obtaining background information and reports on patients, following up on appointments, etc.).
  • Basic project management and oversight skills.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and respect diversity.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

$23.00 - $33.00

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
