What you will do at the Y:
- Strategic Leadership: In collaboration with the CEO and Senior Team, develop and implement forward-thinking financial strategies that support our mission and growth.
- Financial Oversight: Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and reporting with precision and insight, optimizing our Productivity Ratio and managing overhead costs.
- Collaboration Across Branches: Build strong relationships with branch leaders across the association, providing them with financial support, insights, and guidance to ensure the effective management of branch finances and alignment with the overall strategic plan.
- Fundraising Partnership: Work with the development team to secure funding and increase revenue from fundraising efforts, ensuring diverse and sustainable revenue streams.
- Compliance and Integrity: Ensure strict compliance with all regulations and policies, maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity and transparency.
- Liquidity Management: Oversee liquidity to maintain appropriate level of operating reserves, ensuring financial resilience.
- Team Development: Mentor and inspire our finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, customer service, and continuous improvement.
- Board Engagement: Present clear, insightful financial reports to the Board of Directors, Finance Committee, and senior leadership.
- External Relations: Manage key relationships with auditors, financial institutions, and stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks to protect and strengthen our organization.
- Strategic Growth: Partner with the CEO on strategic growth, including real-estate management in the DMV.
- Financial Controls: Implement robust financial policies to ensure transparency and accountability in a nonprofit environment
Who You Are:
- Experienced Leader: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred) with at least 10 years of progressive financial management experience, including 5 years in a senior role in an organization of $50M or more.
- Nonprofit Passion: Experience in nonprofit financial management, ideally within the YMCA or similar organizations.
- Financial Expertise: Deep knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis, with experience managing operating reserves and overhead efficiency.
- Strategic Thinker: Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills, with a knack for solving complex problems.
- Relationship Builder: Proven ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with branch leaders and stakeholders across multiple locations.
- Excellent Communicator: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging diverse stakeholders.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in financial software and systems.
- Innovative: A passion for forward-thinking tools and trends. Enjoy teaching others.

Pay: $240,000.00 - $265,000.00 per year
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
