Internship - Asset Planning & Analysis (Summer 2025)
Job Description
BioMed Realty is seeking an undergraduate student majoring in Business, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or an equivalent field to support the Asset Planning & Analysis Team with ad-hoc reporting, special projects, and recurring departmental responsibilities.
Internship Objectives
- The AP&A Intern will develop familiarity with multi-tenant, complex lab and office assets in core life science markets
- The AP&A Intern will gain cross-functional exposure to nearly all departments of the business, growing their working knowledge and understanding of commercial real estate
- The AP&A Intern will support important department initiatives while enhancing personal skills in analytics, critical thinking, and business reporting/presentation
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Support bespoke operational reporting and analysis including BI dashboard development and enhancement
- Assist department leaders in the development of best practice guides, process documents, and special purpose templates
- Prepare tenant related analyses including credit reviews, new lease reviews, and other ad hoc requests
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly materials including P&L variance analysis and topical reporting
Job Specifications
- Current undergraduate student working towards BA/BS in Business, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or an equivalent field
- Interest in commercial real estate and/or corporate finance
- General experience and/or understanding of financial analysis and real estate cash flows preferred
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint required
- Organized and curious with strong attention to detail; dedicated to excellence in work product and delivery
- Self-motivated; ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple deadlines and adaptability to changing priorities
- Strong academics and extracurricular involvement
Schedule
The Intern is expected to be in the San Diego office Monday-Thursday, per the agreed upon work schedule within our business hours of 7AM-5PM. A minimum of 15 hour/week is required with a 32 hour/week maximum; requirements may be adjusted depending on the needs of the department.
Stipend $25.00 per hour (undergraduate)
The above represents the expected salary for this internship. In determining pay, we consider market rates for comparable interns, and may also consider location, experience, and other related factors.
