Job Description
The Finance and Operations Data Management Analyst at the University of Florida's College of Medicine is pivotal in enhancing the institution's strategic and operational effectiveness through expert data management and analysis. This role delves into comprehensive data collection and analytical processes to drive strategic support, highlighting areas for process improvement, and developing insightful visualizations. Key functions include maintaining the EPM applications, SQL databases, and creating analytic reports and dashboards in a variety of applications such as OneStream, Excel, and Power BI. This position also plays a crucial role in advising leadership on strategic directions based on data-driven evidence, thereby directly contributing to the College's decision-making and strategic planning efforts. Through collaboration and leadership, this position ensures that initiatives are aligned with the College's goals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data-informed decision-making.
About This Role
Data Management and Analysis
- Collect, manage, and analyze data with a focus on key areas including finance, operations, and the compensation plan. Implement data governance practices to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
- Support key initiatives by providing data for analysis, particularly those related to budgeting, variance reporting, and operations.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends that can influence strategic planning and operational improvements.
Process Improvement
- Evaluate and improve data collection and management processes across multiple platforms and departments to ensure seamless data flow and accessibility.
- Implement best practices in data management and analysis, including automation of repetitive data processing tasks to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
- Collaborate with IT and administrative staff to enhance the data infrastructure, supporting advanced analytics and the integration of new data sources.
Reporting and Visualization
- Develop dynamic reports and dashboards that provide insights into clinical productivity, research activity, financial health, workforce composition, and other key performance indicators relevant to the College's strategic goals.
- Customize data presentations for various audiences, including faculty committees, administrative teams, and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and impact.
- Train and support staff and faculty in utilizing dashboards and reports for continuous improvement and strategic planning.
- Serve as a data advisor to college finance and operations leadership, offering insights and recommendations on policy, strategic direction, and operational improvements based on comprehensive data analysis.
- Present data findings and strategic recommendations, ensuring data is translated into actionable insights.

The College of Medicine’s Office of Finance and Administration is dedicated to managing and enhancing the financial and administrative operations that support the college’s mission of excellence in education, research, and patient care. $78,000-$85,000 annually
Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, R, Python for advanced data manipulation and visualization.
- Experience in data management or analysis within finance, operations, education, or healthcare.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects across multidisciplinary teams.
